{"id":1241,"date":"2018-10-18T01:46:46","date_gmt":"2018-10-18T05:46:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cheflorious.com\/?post_type=recipe&#038;p=1241"},"modified":"2018-10-18T01:46:46","modified_gmt":"2018-10-18T05:46:46","slug":"pumpkin-bread-pudding","status":"publish","type":"portfolio","link":"https:\/\/everthemes.com\/wptest\/portfolio\/pumpkin-bread-pudding\/","title":{"rendered":"Pumpkin Bread Pudding"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\">[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n<!--WPRM Recipe 9608--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Pumpkin Bread Pudding<\/h2>\n<p>\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-image\" src=\"http:\/\/cheflorious.com\/staging\/3551\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/pump-bread-pudd-tnail-150x150.jpg\"\/>\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<p>Fall is upon us, and it&#039;s pumpkin season!!\u00a0 I love a good bread pudding, so I figured why not make it even better with pumpkin!\u00a0 And my oh my, this is worth every single calorie.\u00a0 I made this with brioche bread because of its sweetness and soft texture.\u00a0 The subtle sweetness of the brioche almost hugs the pumpkin flavor (in my opinion).\u00a0 I know that sounds corny, but I&#039;m serious, y&#039;all&#8230;it&#039;s really unbelievable.<\/p>\n<p>I&#039;ve mentioned before, that I&#039;m not a big pumpkin fan, but I&#039;ve found (and created) some pumpkin recipes that have made me re-think my relationship status with pumpkin.\u00a0 Maybe we&#039;re dating now?\u00a0 That&#039;s a little far&#8230;.I&#039;d say we&#039;re starting to &quot;hang out&quot; a little.\u00a0 However you look at it, whatever is going on between us, this dish has done a lot to change this sister&#039;s mind!\u00a0 Enjoy.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<ul>\n<li>1 lb brioche bread, cut into cubes and dried<\/li>\n<li>2 cups half and half<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup white sugar<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup pumpkin puree<\/li>\n<li>5 eggs<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp nutmeg<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp ginger<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup butter<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup heavy cream<\/li>\n<li>3 Tbsp salted caramel whiskey (optional)<\/li>\n<li>dash Salt<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Cut bread into half inch cubes.  Place bread in baking dish in 300 degree oven for 10 &#8211; 15 minutes until bread is slightly toasted. <\/li>\n<li>In a medium sized bowl, combine half and half, white sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, eggs, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon and vanilla extract.  Combine well, ensure egg yolks are broken up.<\/li>\n<li>When bread cubes are finished toasting, remove from oven.  Pour 3\/4 of the custard over the bread, ensuring that the custard soaks in to all of the bread cubes.  Using a spoon or spatula, gently press the bread cubes down to help them soak up the custard.  Pour remaining 1\/4 of custard as needed to ensure all of the bread cubes are moist.<\/li>\n<li>Let the soaked bread cubes sit for approximately 10 minutes for bread cubes to soak.<\/li>\n<li>Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 1 hour, or until a knife inserted comes out clean.<\/li>\n<li>In a sauce pan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar.  Combine well.<\/li>\n<li>Increase heat to medium-high, and slowly pour in heavy cream, and incorporate well into butter and brown sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Add whiskey, if using, and continue stirring until alcohol burns off.
