Crab Cakes

  • 2 cups jumbo lump crab meat
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp parsley flakes
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 – 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 – 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cayenne (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (to drizzle)
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Rinse crab meat, but do not break it up. The meat will break up as you combine the ingredients.
  3. Add the bread crumbs, garlic, onions to the crab meat. Incorporate all ingredients.
  4. Add the Old Bay, chili powder, parsley, salt and cayenne (if using). Incorporate all ingredients.
  5. Add the Worcestershire, hot sauce and egg. Incorporate all ingredients. The mixture should be moist, but not overly wet.
  6. Form the patties using approximately 1/3 – 1/2 cup of the mixture. Place on [foil lined] baking sheet, and top with a drizzle of olive oil.
(Optional: The mixture can be placed in the refrigerator for 20 – 30 minutes to firm before forming the patties.)
  7. Bake for approximately 10 – 12 minutes. Flip the crab cakes, and drizzle the other side with olive oil.
  8. Bake for an additional 6 – 8 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven and enjoy!
